Post your pictures of loved ones who have served.
Wonderful history forever loved in your family photos, T. Thank you for your share . We all here in the Tribe appreciate them too . Not just a day, but every day , for loved ones, and all.
Since you gave permission, here is my father ...your top photo of Uncle Jimmy reminds me much of this one !
Da....WW2 fighter pilot and gunner.
Himself and his mates, far left, standing back row.
Stunt pilot in his Pitts ,also crop duster who built his own planes with souped up engines.
I grew up flying with him ...began teaching me to fly when I was 16.
A most powerful generation ...he was larger than life. Decorated seven times in fearless aid of his mates in mid air battle.
Stunt pilot, builder of all kinds of aircraft, airboats, drag racers, training top class performance Quarter horses, captain of ships , with his own deep sea trawlers, fix anything with an engine , an amazing artist - to mention a few .
He was fierce in defense and love of Viet Nam veterans ...he called them the greatest men who ever lived ...and loved the Huey pilots and gunners.
What I would give for him to meet those in my life .
I miss him every day ....among the most handsome and talented of men who ever lived . Even if I do say so myself.
"If you want a good pilot....get someone who's been shot at " ....
Thank you, all.
