What time is the game on?
I'll be watching OSU v Maryland from 8:00 am (12:00 pm, EST) and then whatever games from there on.
Isn't Penn State playing Minnesota? That should be a good game too.
Hey, Nittany. Are we going to bet this year on the OSU v. Penn State game? We may be without our best player.

I still want to know why y'all say "Roll Tide!" instead of "Go Elephants!"
Mixed up bunch of Southerners.

Jim Probably because it's the Crimson Tide, not the Crimson Elephants?

The President will be here so assuming we get him in and out without incident I will consider UA and the hundreds of law enforcement personnel that will be there the winners regardless of how the game turns out on the field. Plus ESPN College Game Day and SEC Nation will be going on. Gonna be a long day!

Jim Probably because it's the Crimson Tide, not the Crimson Elephants? A tide was too difficult to make into a mascot, so you chose an elephant? What's an elephant got to do with either a tide or Alabama? There are buckeyes in Ohio. There used to be wolverines in Michigan. But where exactly do the elephants inhabit Alabama? Jim

A2A Julia Croft. You have to dig a little in the archives to get the official story, told at the Bryant Museum in Tuscaloosa. It is a connection of two stories and two monikers given by sportswriters.
The first came in 1907, when sportswriter Hugh Roberts said the “Bama players looked like a red tidal wave”. Thereafter referred to as the Crimson Tide.
The connection to the elephant mascot came 23 years later in 1930, playing Ole’ Miss. Sportswriter Everett Strupper of the Atlanta Journal described this scene- “At the end of the quarter the earth started to tremble. There was a distant rumble that continued to grow. Some excited fan in the stands bellowed ‘Hold your horses, the elephants are coming’ and out stamped the Alabama varsity.
After these comments by Strupper, he and other writers referred to the linemen on that team, that went 10–0, as “Red elephants”. Hence the elephant became associated with the red tidal wave and the elephant became the mascot of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Thanks for requesting this answer Julia. I was able to refresh my memory on how the elephant became the Alabama mascot.
So now you know.

To answer Jame's question. The last time Alabama and LSU played in the National Championship Game Alabama won. I'm picking LSU to win this one. As a side note I'm picking Western Kentucky to beat Arkansas.....it sucks being an Arkansas fan.
