Kinda of a long story, neighbor txted from the stand and said he was finally starting to see some buck pushing does. So at noon got out to my climbing stand down in the creek bottom. About 2 pm I see a buck about 100 yards in front of me on the hill side cruising. I gave him a couple of grunts and that stopped him he looked over the bottom for about 5 min then I gave him a series of tending grunts. He trotted down the hill and stopped in some brush by one of my food plots gave him a real light doe bleat and that set the hook. I was able to stop him at about 40 yards and shoot he was angling toward me just a touch when I shot this was 2 30.
He runs back the way he came then slows to a walk and then laid down behind a big oak in some brush. Every once in awhile I can see him move his head in so I just watch with the binos. I hadn't seen anymore movement for about 45 min then I see a deer come out from the brush right there and I'm thinking what the fudge the shot looked good. I watch this deer move slowly across the hill top and start coming back down toward me finally got out into the open and it wasn't my buck I had watched this deer for 1 1/2 hours feeding. Got down reload xbow and started the great sneak up to the big oak and there he was. He died right on the trail where I last seen him lay down what a relief.
I was shooting a Sniper 370 crossbow , piledriver bolts with swhacker clone broadhead. Bolt entered just in front of the shoulder quartering back just a touch and took out both lungs. Not my biggest deer but he's going on the wall for calling him in. 9 point

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I'll never forget the first buck that I grunted/rattled in. I was sitting on the ground, and the brute bulled through the thicket right in front of me. He wasn't as big as I was looking for, but I shot it out of fear of physical damage which it seemed intent to put upon me. We were eye to eye at about 15 yards. Slug to the neck ended well for me. Not so much for him.
