I don't clean my machine, mask or tube. Ever.

I cleaned it like crazy when I first got it. Now I don't do anything but use it.

I haven't had a cold or been sick since I started on the CPAP in Dec. of 2013. If I feel a bit of congestion coming on during the day, that night I will turn all the humidity settings to their highest level. By the next morning I am good to go.

I wouldn't spend money on some kind of cleaning machine.

Mine is bpap, neither the provider nor the manufacturer recommends using any machine to clean it. soap water and vinegar are the only recommended. cleaning agents. I think I probably clean it about 1/10 as often as suggested or when I think of it.
My guess is the idea of a special cleaning machine sells and the guy selling makes money.

My provider would not say one way or the other. I think I will call the manufacturer. Thanks

I have used a SoClean for at least 3 years. I also use distilled water in it. I got tired of cleaning and still finding mold spots in hose. I use just a nose breathing piece and I don't have to change it like I did before getting the SoClean. I liked mine so much I purchased one for my son. I can't remember where I got mine but paid a little less than $280 if memory serves me. Yes, it is expensive, but I believe worth the money.

After 6 months or so you should replace charcoal filter which if you buy from SoClean is expensive. I ordered a sheet of charcoal filter from Amazon and cut my own filter.

A side note my cpap supplier tried to tell me the SoClean would ruin my machine. I think she was telling me that because I haven't been ordering nearly the number of hoses and masks that I did before getting the SoClean.

Thanks Beeman, a couple point that I have not ever heard about, did not know you could put your own charcoal filter in. No one has ever said anything about hoses and mask lasting longer.

Getting there,
The hoses and masks probably don't last any longer it is just they don't get that funky, mildew smell.

I probably should change mask and hose more. My supplier tries to get me to change ever time I am eligible.

The SoClean uses ozone to to kill mold, mildew and germs.

Just under $280 is what I paid for the Lumin. It uses UV, instead of ozone, to clean.

The SoClean is fine. And don't worry b/c it won't ruin your machine.

A major benefit of the Lumin is it works great for cleaning my mask during covid. Every day I use the machine to clean not only my CPAP mask but also the face mask I wear around town nowadays. Put it in, hit go, and in 5 minutes it is clean. Amazing how it works. I recommend them even to people that don't have sleep apnea. The place I bought mine told me they have some customer using them just for their covid mask.

I use the SoClean and love it. I bought mine through Amazon and it was considerably cheaper than trying to buy it though a local home health store. No problems with it or the CPAP in over 3 years.

I have had my machine for 11 years this November. I have a nose mask only. I clean mine with a vinegar warm water soak and then soap and hot water once a week or so. I pour the vinegar solution in the hose and wind that around in the bucket I use to soak the stuff before washing and letting dry. Thought about the cleaning machines but feel I am doing okay and it is not much work to do this weekly or so.

You still have to hand clean everything once in a while. It will kill the bugs but not the crude that builds up in the mask. Other wise it take 30 sec. to put the mask in the SoClean. The machine takes care of everything.

I clean my mask pad with dawn and warm water every night before I use it and I always use distilled water in my machine. Never had any problems. I replace the hose and mask when my insurance says I can.

I have had a SoClean for about 2 years. About every three months I put the plastic parts in the dishwasher.

I bought the SoClean a few years ago. I'm so glad I listened to the wife on this.
Daily manually cleaning the hoses, mask, etc. was a PITA.
Since using SoClean, I haven't had any coughs, secretions, etc.
I also replace the hoses, mask, water tray, and air filters quite often.
Again, so glad I listened to the wife.
