Any one catch the Movie: MIDWAY that came out yesterday ?

Thought it was a fairly accurate depiction of this historical event from World War II.

I'd say It was a pretty good movie. anyone see it ?

I saw a trailer for it in Anchorage a couple weeks ago. Looks like it's full of graphics

Haven't seen it yet but I want too.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I want to, but worried it would be too Hollywood flashy lame, try too hard and overdo CGI effects. Really like the original. Would prefer a modern interpretation of the original. If that's what this is, then I'm game.

I plan to see it. I actually have visited Midway, compliments of the US Navy. My destroyer stopped at the refueling pier on the way to SE Asia (second tour)..........the entire island is a naval base, an airstrip, barracks, etc.

We had about an hour and a half to kill, so we asked if we could get off the ship and walk around. We could, so a few of us went walking around by the barracks, saw a "pop machine", walked over to it to buy a soda and here it was a beer machine. It was full of cans of Olympia beer. We hit the jackpot bigtime. An hour and a half later we boarded the ship with a snoot full laugh

Hope to see it. I have read some regarding that battle. My dad was on a troop carrier going to Australia as part of that armada and it was a good thing we stopped the Japanese that day. There were roughly 25,000 army troops on those troop carriers that would work their way from Australia up to through the Philippines. Most of them were still seas sick during Midway. Pretty messy voyage.

During AIT at Fort Knox I walked over to "soda" machine and was surprised to see it full of beer. Fist time I'd ever seen a beer machine.

Eh...wot?

The wife and I just got back from the theater. My personal opinion is it was nice going out for a evening to a show and leaving feeling like you got your moneys worth.Unless your one of those people that pick everything apart I don't think you'll regret seeing it.My wife really enjoyed it too.
