Had a good check today. Took the four year old out on some sets at a local public lake. 3 coons, a possum, and two beavers. She declared that it was amazing. The smaller beaver was front footed in a Duke 1 1/2 at a coin pvc pipe set with carp for bait. Strange, but it held him fine, nice and high. The bigger guy went down the drowner cable, but then he pulled it back up on shore. The weight was a paint bucket full of cement. Strong guy I guess, he weighed 58 pounds. He's all butchered up and in the fridge.

Looks like a great day for you and the kids.

Nice work loosegoose.

Right on! I’ve skinned skunks in the kitchen before and fleshed fox and fishers in the living room. The life!

I'm only allowed to do beavers in the kitchen, everything else has to be done outside. I've convinced her that I don't have a sanitary place to butcher outside. The kitchen does real of castor though, and she's not too pleased about that crazy None on the meat though. I'm finally finished with both, and finishing my the.night off with some fried beaver backstrap cool

Good grief! My wife would’ve kicked my tail had I brought anything like that inside. Meat is one thing. Full on critters will have me snuggling with the dogs. Congrats on the catch though. Glad to see kids involved.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

mine doesn't allow skinning in the house but when I was done with a nasty smelling blood covered coyote one night I thought id be funny and ask her if I could put it in her new washing machine. I got a real kick outta it as I was saying it then when she answered and said yeah baby go ahead you think it will do a good job. I was in shock but we found out that her new washer will clean the worst looking coyote and turn it into something really nice. she puts up with so much god bless her soul. shes a good woman.

those are some great catches loosegoose. we set out 8 dps and haven't connected yet but my 6 year old and 8 year old enjoy going on every check.
