Just caught my second otter yesterday. The otter I caught last year was large (49 inches, 25 pounds), I made a board following the largest NAFA pattern.

The one I caught this year is smaller, 34 inches long. Should I make a smaller board? If so, what's the best way to determine M or L otter. There are 3 board patterns from NAFA.

I will be having the hide tanned for display at home, not selling the fur.

Thanks.

If you are getting it tanned,it wont matter what board you stretch it on,as long as there are no wrinkles causing drying problems.
A small otter can be boarded on a fox board.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

That is what I was thinking. I have some narrow coon boards that I'll just trim up and maybe extend a bit to get the tail pinned out well.
