I did some small-scale, limited lure testing on part of my short line last season and just tallied the results.

Dobbin's Mississippi Special was used at 6 sets and caught 15 red fox.
Carmin's Red Fox Gland was used at 7 sets and caught 9 red fox.
Caven's Minnesota Red was used at 3 sets and caught 6 red fox.
Dobbin's GL 40 was used at 2 sets and caught 5 red fox.
Dobbins K9 03 was used at 2 sets and caught 2 red fox.
Hawbaker's Red Fox Gland 100 was used at 2 sets and caught 2 red fox.

Location 9:

A faint tractor trail along the edge of an alfalfa field with a 12-15' wide wooded, brushy steep bank separating it from a corn field below it. This used to be a good location until I started trapping Location 12 a mile to the west. I now catch them before they get here.

Location 10:

A pumpkin patch with three tractor lanes running through it, bordered by other crop fields.

Location 12:

A well-used tractor trail connecting two hard roads with hay fields on either side.

Location 13;

A long tractor trail connecting two hard roads. Woods on one side, a couple hundred acres of CRP on the other side.

Very unscientific and small scale but I thought the results were interesting. Gonna get me some more of that Mississippi Special! grin

Thank you for the report. It's always good to hear success stories.

Your welcome. It restored my faith in food-based lures.
