UC Berkeley instructor calls rural Americans 'bad people' who deserve 'uncomfortable' lives https://www.foxnews.com/us/uc-berkeley-instructor-rural-americans-bad-peopleA UC Berkeley graduate student and instructor took to Twitter to shame "rural Americans" and those who aren't "pro-city." Jackson Kernion, who has reportedly taught at least 11 philosophy courses at the California university, made the comments last Wednesday. "I unironically embrace the bashing of rural Americans," Kernion wrote in a now-deleted tweet. "They, as a group, are bad people who have made bad life decisions...and we should shame people who aren't pro-city." Kernion started going after rural citizens, saying they should have higher health care, pay more in taxes and be forced to live an "uncomfortable" life for rejecting "efficient" city life, Campus Reform reported. Brad Blakeman, an adjunct professor of public policy and international affairs at Georgetown University, called the comments "nuts" on "Fox News @ Night" Monday and said "cities need to take care of their own" because "rural America is doing just great." Fox News contributor Doug Shoen added: "We started as a rural country. We remain at our heart linked to rural communities. Thank goodness for small towns, farms, and traditional values." Kernion appeared to apologize on his private Twitter account, reportedly calling it a "bad tweet" he would "reflect on." "My tone is way crasser and meaner than I like to think I am," he also wrote. UC Berkeley did not return a request for comment.

rural america isnt littered with dirty drug needles and human feces. I think living in a city makes people crazy. I loathe big cities and avoid them like the plague ridden cesspools they are.

I hope they all stay in their big cities. I like it just fine where I'm at.

Without the rural folks the city slickers would be very hungry, naked and sober

Wherever I have traveled in the world the best folks have always been country folk. No matter the culture, city folk suck!
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

The best part about this is he doesn’t realize that without rural America the people in those big cities would starve. Yep, I was thinking that exact same thing. Maybe park the tractors and trucks for a season and see just how those citidiots fare.

Lets see how uncomfortable them city rats are without what we produce for them, big talk for folks that consume about everything and produce so little. Hunger will humble them.

Well, I’ve been in Orlando, FL since Sunday and aside from sitting by the pool and the girls having fun chasing a large mouse and a few princesses around, I could’ve left for home on Sunday. I’m not even a fan of where I’m currently living because it’s to urban for me now but places like this just about kill me.
I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

“Efficient” city life? Oh, you mean how super efficient it is that it takes an hour to commute eight miles because of traffic? Or maybe the part where one accident backs up traffic for ten miles in every direction. Maybe it’s the part where parking costs $40 for 3 hours. It’s really efficient how nobody has enough space to grow a houseplant, let alone their own vegetables. When I visited New York I really liked the part where everyone acted as though everyone else was their own personal nemesis. I saw a guy on a bike follow a car and scream profanities at him for three blocks because the car beeped it’s horn once at him. Real nice folks. The trash all over the place was cool too.

apparently he has never tried to get work done in the city , it is anything but efficient.
everything takes 2-3 times longer , heck it takes a special permit , getting to the job early and extra time parking just to get to a job.
then haul in the tools you need , never leave the truck un-locked or just run a load up and come back for the rest without locking up.
when I work with folks in big cities like LA wow , had a guy drive to a site at 3am because it would only be a 50 minute drive there and 50 back , he literately forgot to flip a switch before he left the night before , if he waited much longer it would be a 2-3 hour drive home.
Toronto I found a customer a part at another costumers site that they could get and I would send the other customer a replacement 2nd day air , I looked at the map they shouldn't have been more than 15-20 minutes apart , told him where it was , he thought it would be an hour each way during the day he agreed at 2am he would be able to make it in 15 minutes.
yup that's efficiency for you.
or only able to bring a truck in after midnight and have to be out before 5am
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
