I have ,but mostly my wife uses it to wash my work dirty clothes about every third washing because modern washers are more concerned with water conservation than cleaning clothes

Looks like my Hobart one thing to be careful about grinding frozen stuff is sometimes the gear drive itself isn’t strong enough to handle it, the Hobart dealer told me to be careful of that, he said the motor wouldn’t pull down but the gears could let go if not careful. He said the biggest thing was if the frozen pieces were too big was the problem, otherwise when fresh the pieces could be as big as would fit in the neck and he was right, we grind about 50 pounds of beef in about 3 minuets probably could be faster if I could get it in it faster.

Wow that is a beast! You don't want your shirt tail getting caught in that machine!
Push with a wooden stick and you can get some sawdust fiber into your red meat!

Its belt drive between the motor and gear box. That allows some slippage.

We had one of those when I was a kid. Boy do I miss it. It'll make quick work of just about anything.

A friend of mine grinds horse radish root with a grinder like this one. We grind the root twice, once with large holes then finish with smaller hole.

He burned up numerous blenders and processors before he got this beast. He will also grind 50 pounds of chuck into hamburger in just minutes.

He built a stand for his grinder so the grinder sits about table high. He also put wheels on stand. Good luck with yours.

You'd be surprised how cheap you can buy a machine like that at auction. Used.

Years ago I was at a sale, Dad had my bidding # and bought a big contraption like that, way, way too big for what I could use here at work. I forget, but think it was only $100 or so? Finally found the next high bidder and sold it for like $5 over cost.

You might not think about it, but the worm on that thing will hold 10 pounds of meat, maybe 15? If you're only grinding one deer, there's a lot of it stuck in the grinder head. Gotta clean out all that stuff every time you use it.

Thats Awesome! I would have left the 3 phase Motor on and bought a Variable speed drive that can be powered by 120v. They make some now that will convert into 3 phase on small applications. That way you could slow down and speed up the grinder as needed.

Well, just checked my grinder is a Toledo 5222, 220v 3/4 horse.

Years ago we butchered a side of beef each week here at the store. Everything is boxed beef these days, and doesn't have any shelf life. Things change, and the little man can't compete with the big stores. Even if you do offer a better product.

You know, it's been probably 10 years since I've sold fresh ground hamburger and steak and pork, yet, now and then I'll still have people as for it. In a way I miss butchering, in another way I don't.

I looked into that and the motor was way cheaper and didn't take as much brain power to figure out what phase inverter I needed and how to hook it up . I just took the frame number off the original motor (184T) and ask my electric motor guy to find me a single phase (184T) he found one checked it over and sold it to me for $140 .then i gave my electrician buddy the 3 phase motor for getting a new starter switch and wiring it all up with new wire
