Haven't set steel yet. Took my truck in because of an exhaust leak.... whole exhaust system is rotted out, and several other things are going wrong (like steering). Since I'm not willing to sink more into the truck than I bought it for a year ago, I guess she's getting scrapped.

To top it off, I just got my yearly sticker....

Sorry to hear that you had to dump your truck. Repair as not getting any cheaper anymore. A lot of shop charge over a $100.00 per hour.

That sucks man. Sorry to hear the woes. It’s never good when the cost of repairs exceeds the truck value. But, it’s often cheaper than buying new/used. Guess it all depends what you’re looking for in the end. Good luck man.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I'm in the same boat. The tranny in my "good" truck went south on me and the repair cost is more than it's worth but to replace it is stupid money so I'm going to have it fixed and hope it'll last a few more years.

My tranny went out over a week ago,it's toast no more money into the 2001 Ford, bit the bullet and bought another pick up a 2008 Chevy with a 140 rounds,it's a very nice truck I hope to get 8 to 10 years out of it,it's going to take a lot of coyotes to pay for the new wheels lol. [Linked Image]

That sucks I haven’t set yet either to elbow problems hoping maybe Monday, we’ve gone to 100 an hour when we work on things because our costs have gone up that far from insurance, buildings, and tools.

Sad thing is the truck only has 130K on it, but these danged midwest winters and the stupid amount of salt...the whole underside is crumbling. Wish I could find a body from the SW and drop my engine into it.

A lot of people don't realize how much good tools cost. I got started buying Snappy tools - pretty salty.

It is a Dodge. Engine is solid, I'd love to drop it into a body that had one blow.

Lot of them around here with engines or trannys out and no rust or at least not the rust buckets from Illinois . I would imagine the cost to haul them back would scare one pretty quick. Don't forget the cost to change one out as well as to pull the old as well.
