Been getting some skunks in dog proof best way to remove order or is it necessary for coon trapping.
I dont recall ever catching a coon after a skunk.
It is a plus for our handling of traps I know.

I don’t think it’s necessary. I try to scrub the mud/blood off a dp before settling again, but that’s it.

I've been trying to get the smell off of a pair of them for over a year. Hope someone gives a sure fire technique.

One would think a good cleaning with Dawn to remove gross soil, followed by soaking for a few minutes in the peroxide, baking soda and a few drops of Dawn mixture recommended to remove skunk odors from skin should do it. I haven’t tried it. But I have buried my skunked DPs in damp dirt for months and it brings the smell down to where animals don’t seem to mind. if you search the archives, you’ll find the formula

LEAVE IT! Skunk might be the best coon attractor there is.
