With the surplus of threads about selling furs, how much do you market fur by wearing fur?

I bought my wife a pair of boots a couple of years ago that had fur trim. She loves them and lots of people have commented or noticed them, never negatively.

I think there would be a lot more demand, especially by the politically incorrect crowd, if
They saw more fur being worn
They could find a place to buy fur hats or gloves, etc

What is the reaction when you wear your own catch, do you get to tell people about it?

My plan is to have mittens made from muskrats that I catch. Maybe a coon hat too.

That is how I got into selling manufactured fur articles.
I was drinking in the Bar at one of the Raucous winter carnivals here in Feb,back in the late 70's,and was wearing a Red Fox hat with the face, head and tail that I had made for myself.
I was running low on drinking money so sold the hat for $125.
Needless to say my noggin was cold all weekend after since all I had was a toque to wear.
The next year I made up Two fur hats in case I needed to sell one for extra fun money I would still have one to keep the old noggin warm.
Well I wound up selling both of those the next year, then it sort of took off when people seen my unique design on a few people and started calling for hats and later mitts all through word of mouth.
No better way to advertise and create a demand for fur than wearing it,or have other people wear it.

My wife has a red fox stroller and a bleached muskrat hooded jacket with coyote trim on the hood. She gets a lot compliments on both. Also a "really" when she tells people that her husband caught the fur they are made of. I guess they don't think I am capable of catching a few rats, much less the fox and coyote. Me and Rodney we don't get no respect. mad

Little to hot here to wear fur most of the time. Unless your setting still in a deer stand or riding in something that is exposed to direct cold.

I started putting earflaps on baseball caps a few years ago and still have people asking for them that saw me wearing them 3 years ago.

I have never worn my raccon hat without getting postivie comments. I would say there is also a 50 / 50 on if they ask to touch it.

Just like all the comments above, a very positive reaction to wearing fur in day to day activities.

Every time I wear my plucked, sheared beaver coat and scarf, people just love it, and almost every time, they want to touch the velvety soft underfur . It always gives the educational opportunity to explain the process of making such a coat to those who don't know. And to appreciate nature's renewable resources.

All good .
