I think being a mobile hunter I'm going to put the tree stand away and try the saddle. They seem to be gaining popularity. Easy, comfortable, and light weight.

I would love to have one, but they are pricey!
On a side note, anyone watch "The Hunting Public" on YouTube? They make great videos.

When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

What is it?

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Those guys are a great watch, a hunting show on public land mostly that isnt a constant commercial for xyz product. Listened to a podcast where they talked about the process that they go through with companies before they do business with them.

But it doesn't smell nowhere near as good as the other castor.

Interested how it works.
Climb a tree, secure a line,
climb down so you can climb back up, err?

Not seeing it on their site,
couple a twenty more buttons may help lol.

Climb the tree the traditional way, with sticks or steps, then secure a line to the tree and hook the saddle to that line. Some guys use a small platform to stand on while hanging, but that's an additional investment.

Well maybe with help, PCR2 if I get to make it out to your place, which isn't looking good cause of my truck btw, could you gently cup my buttocks and push me up the tree? It would be not only appreciated but reciprocated. grin

Use a strap across your back. It’ll take the strain off.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I just bet if a person gets one and uses it for a while he or she would not be too excited about them anymore. They look different but not very comfortable to be in for hours and hours.

I originally posted an entire paragraph on this thread and it wound up on the wing suit thread somehow. I eyeballed the saddle for a bit and opted to try and hunt from the ground like bow ninja. Didn’t work out so well. I got a muddy butt and got busted when I drew my bow. I’d love to be more mobile cause I don’t have several stands at my disposal. Y’all get time, you should check out bow ninja on YouTube. He hasn’t posted in a few years though. I could bring them in over bait and mobility was awesome. Can’t draw without getting busted though.

I hunted from one all year. Some times just standing on the top step of my sticks, and sometimes out of a traditional hang on stand. Even in a traditional stand I spend the majority of the time leaning into the saddle or sitting in it. It's just more comfortable that sitting in most stands.
Now it doesn't compare to a summit seat or M100 seat, but it beats almost everything else.
Safety factor and your ability to shoot while leaning into the saddle make it worth the purchase alone.
I bought a Tethrd Mantis and made my own rope rigs with 8mm Oplux climbing rope. Small diameter and ultra strong.

Nowadays it just don't pay to be a good 'ol boy.
