My Grizzly planer, jointer, table saw, and drum sander have all served me well. I doubt you will wear one out. Parts are readily available. I have replaced the belts on my table saw once and my planet twice. I bought them from Napa. I had to replace a magnetic switch on my planet once. All I have had close to twenty years.

you need a good dust collection system to go with it. I've planed solid oak boards with mine and really like it.

Dust collector, a must . Also Grizzly.

I have a ShopFox 2”X72” belt sander that i really like that I used for blacksmithing, and I have a ShopFox planer I did alot of research on consumer reports about them before i bought one. Very precise controls and made by Grizzly i think. Could be wrong???

I have a 15 inch allso, really ,really put mine through it ,and the only problems i have had was the switch over loading . not just using it for hobby woodworking . but have ran several thousand feet through it. had it since the 80s . must be a good machine.

My smallest planner is a Grizzly 12" Model G1017- I've had it for years and love the performance. As mentioned and with any planner, dust collection is a must, I also have mine on wheels and take it outside my shop when doing a lot of planning.
