I know most places illegal. I set one in my enclosed shed and first night bait was stolen, my mentor told me it was easier to catch a bear than a mouse with deadfall. Trigger pull needs to be ever so light for a mouse vs. a bear. Second days check and deadfall is collapsed, and yes success one flat deer mouse. Hope the pics make it. Easier to trap mice than operate computers[Linked Image]

A job well done, thanks for posting.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Friend who taught me a lot about trapping and everything else, used them in the thirties and forties. All the guys who shared knowledge with me are gone, I was fortunate to have known them.

Surprised the trigger sticks don't keep the plywood off of a mouse. Do they get kicked clear of the plywood when tripped?

Wildflights, supposedly only the bait stick is under the weight and the other sticks fly clear. Make your bait stick thinner than quarry, My bait stick is about half a pencil thickness. Todays catch had 2 sticks under trap not sure if mouse was at bait end or climbing on other parts , I haven't moved anything so I need to study what really took place , like anything there is a learning curve. I'm sure these mice can learn me smile Bob

Outback; my dad showed me that trigger about ‘61 but used it with a wooden box instead. About ‘71 I figured out if I did away with the diagonal and shortened the trigger on the outside of the vertical and hammered the vertical into the ground till the notch was a few inches above ground, I could tie a snare to the trigger then to a sapling I had removed the branches from. Bend the sapling over set the trigger in the notch form a loop under the trigger and catch whatever I chose to bait for. Coyotes bobcats coons and possum were the usual suspects. Looking back it was probably not regulation but a kid on his folks land in Texas in those days didn’t even think about it.
A nontarget ,no serious injuries, and a stern chewing out by Mom put a stop to that “set”.
