Just curious as to how big the average cat is, both in weight and in length.

I would guess your Aroostook Co. 'cat is a young-of-the-year tom. That is about what a young one here will weigh.

Big toms out in western Oregon will go around 25 Lbs or so. Females around 16-18 lbs.

I have caught them anywhere from 8 pounds (yes, 8) to low 40's. I think we have bigger than normal cats here but they are butt ugly.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Didn’t weigh this cat, and I kick myself for it now. but I know there’s not a bobcat or a lynx form big enough for it, taxidermist said we’re gonna have to cut one in half and lengthen it by a couple 3-4 inches and cut the head in half and widen it. Dnr officer that tagged it said it’s the biggest cat he’s seen in 14 years and 3 different states. Taxidermist said the same thing.

I’m 6’1” for reference, I know I can swing a 30-35 pound dog in the truck with one arm no problem, this was a two handed operation for sure

Is that measurement on the carcass? I would assume so. 31-33” is very small for a stretched and dried bobcat.

Most of the toms here weigh over 20. I've had two that weighted 25 and this is one of them. He must have been a fighter as both ears were pretty much chewed off.
