I have ate Lynx, bobcat and mt lion. It was all real white meat, and the same other than tom cats during breeding season. Toms during breeding season tasted like boar hog or like tom cat pee smells.

I grew up in Idaho. Ate bobcat pretty regularly. Then, spent nearly 30 years in Alaska, and harvested many lynx. Spent better than a year in Far Eastern Russia (with their Far Eastern Forest Cat, Far Eastern Leopard, and Siberian tiger). Now back in Idaho. Have come full circle.
To my way of thinking (and feedback from my palate), I would rate lynx as pretty much on the top of the list. Mountain lion a close second. I do like bobcat meat as well, but the older, ranker toms are not something that I even save any longer. Younger toms and females are remarkably tasty. My wife, Lisa, perfected a lynx white-sauce pizza many years ago, and we now use young bobcat for the main ingredient, as lynx is a bit hard to come by down here in Idaho.
I have to ask, where did a question like that come from? Gives me a good chuckle....

Jack Would like to hear some stories about the Russian wilderness. I don't believe I would care to be in the same patch of woods as a tiger.

Lynx is one of the best wild meats available. Locals are always looking to take it all home when they attend our skinning workshops. Everyone who tries it always wants more.

I've eaten Bobcat and Mt. Lion, but not Lynx. I thought it all was good, but none of the meat came from a rutting tom.
Gulo, I want to hear about those Far East felines too, especially the BIG one. I read that John Vaillant book and quite honestly, I think seeing one of those striped son-of-a-guns staring at me from the bushes would cause me to let my water drain right into my boots. What a magnificent, yet terrifying, beast.
