Does coyote meat work for bait? Not much touches my skinned yote pile out in the pasture, besides bugs, magpies, and crows.

I've heard both sides. Some throw skinned carcasses near their sets to draw other yotes toward the set

All I know is I’ve never seen anything eat them. Not even buzzards. So I’d bet against it.

Canine carcasses will draw in small mammals and birds.Ravens working carcasses are also a long distance call. The carcasses themselves also have an attraction as a scent lure to their own kind.Everything gets back into the food chain one way or another when recycled on the trapline.

I've found a single carcass in the close proximity of a snare station/area seems to draw other coyotes in. A bunch of carcasses in a good place can ruin it for years.

In the winter I used to throw carcasses on top of my wood shed. Birds would pick them clean. I never trapped coyotes, but another carcasses the birds seemed to ignore was otter. Beaver was rib eye steak to birds.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

Some of you guys might be missing the boat on this one. Just saying. My opinion. There is a time and place when coyote parts and meat are just the ticket for catching other coyotes. I would be curious as to the time and place coyote meat shines as a bait if your willing to share. I love testing and compare formulations.
