Since they're no longer made has anyone bought some for an investment?

I've used Sleepies for awhile. Some I've liked, others not so much.

Just put in a order to a few trapping supply companies.

At 1 place #11 DLS were sold out.

Another #2 DLS were sold out.

I got 3 1/2 dozen of different size DLS, plus 2 dozen of different size coil springs.

I'm hoping that in a few years the prices for new in the box Sleepies will go up.

I'm calling it the stock market of traps.

I picked up a few before they went out, hated to see them go. I got a Red special, a #4 and something else. You can never go wrong investing in traps lol!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I bought a couple dozen of their 1 3/4 coil springs and 2 of their 4 1/2 long spring. Would like to get a couple more of the 4 1/2 's.

I have two #5 wolf traps I would love to sell. No one seems to want them. I was especially disappointed with the fact that they are not serial numbered. They are supposed to be limited number, but both of mine have no numbers, so how many are there really?

Probably a good investment would be to take Sleepy Creek traps that are new in the box, keep the box factory sealed. Put in a place where it won’t get wet or damaged and leave it for 50 years. A great investment for your grandkids. smile

Look at what new in the unopened boxes of Triumph traps are worth, IF you can find them.

That's what I planned on but 50 years?

I'll do the math. So when I'm 110 they might be worth something?!?! laugh

Yea but I doubt anyone was setting back full boxes of Triumphs for collecting purposes back in the day.

imissed - 50 years is my estimate. Too many made for it to happen sooner. Might even take longer, just depends on how many others are thinking like you.

TW - you are right, back in the 30s folks weren’t saving boxes of unopened traps, they were using them to survive. But every once in awhile something like that surfaces. Found in grandpas workroom when he passed away or hidden in the back room of a hardware store.

I’ve got a few boxes of Victor and B&L traps stashed away. Not as old as Triumphs but some of them are 40 plus years old.

This is as silly as collecting state quarters....... Too many people are collecting them, and in 50 years who will want them???
