They played you like a fiddle,all your traps will be gone by morning.  I'm a good judge of character and I really doubt that. If so, then so be it and karma will get him. But most Idahoans don't act like typical New Yorkers.

Man that's awesome! Perhaps it is due to the lack of money, relatively speaking, to be had through trapping. Kinda like filtering the quality of people one runs into.
Take the money and greed out of anything and most people won't even bother doing it. Those of us that love this stuff are a bit of a different, albeit dying, breed. You may be on to something.

Your painting New Yorkers with a pretty wide brush there.Fact is MOST New Yorkers are nothing like the ones from the big cities.The statement I made simply comes from 50 years of trapping.Ive seen ALL sorts.Just giving a fellow trapper a heads up.Be very carefull of whom you trust.

Ya ever have a guy follow you around and cus at you at each stop demanding payment or royalty of $3 per rat for legally trapping in a road right away and you know he has a loaded rifle sitting on his passenger side.... then ya tell the warden and he says yeah he's got a temper just the way he is and does nothing? uhg! Get up super early pull traps exit Dodge before shot in back... True story SD rat boom 2010 or 11... Ain't no rat worth a bullet not even a slough full of albinos... I figured that crazy old man might just do it he looked ill grey skin w/ yellow eyes and might just say my last hoorah I'm going down w/ a no royalty paying trapper... My usual is yes sir, yes sir, yes sir, or maam and just go about my business.... Harassment is illegal but I can't say I've ever heard it enforced

Hopefully my season goes like this too. We shall see soon enough I suppose as mink and rats open tomorrow here. Tell that to your greedy furbuyer.

Upstate NY checked my sets there tonight. Otter blind sets were all still there. My one beaver set was still there although frozen on. Coyote sets checked from a distance with a flashlight and looked untouched
