The Bride and I bought a new Crosley washing machine in January of 2018. The repair guy just left.....it is already toast! It needs a new "Board" (computer brain). Looks like I'm buying a new washer....again. Any appliance repair guys on here recommend any certain brands??

I feel your pain... I bought one of those computer brain washers used. It takes three times as long to wash half the amount of clothes half as good. So then I got one made in the 1950s.... works great but it leaks and I can't get parts for it.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Get one without a computer
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

GE is the only brand of appliance i will buy now. Or bosch if you can afford it. Most all the others are owned by whirlpool and i have had bad luck with their stuff. In the past decade ive bought several of about every appliance out there between moving a few times and things tearing up.

My computerized high-efficiency piece of crap Whirlpool finally died today (with maybe more than a little help from me). Will be picking up a good old-fashioned, has-an-agitator and uses more than a thimbleful of water machine tomorrow.
We been hoping this hunk of junk would die for a few years now. We were thirty-plus year customers at the place that sold it to us, we are done there.
Maybe I can finally have clean work clothes.
Eh...wot?

Appliances these days suck. It seems like twice a year we have something take a crap and need fixed or usually replaced.
My uncle does some appliance repair up in your area J. Morse. Was your repair man named Jim?

I don't know how it is in your area , but in my area I see working washing machines , dryers and other major appliances for free on Craigslist.
Generally once a week I see a washing machine for free in a area within 25 miles. Not the best , maybe older tech ( without computers) but in working order for free.
Worth a look.

Maybe I can finally have clean work clothes. Yeah we thought we were gonna find an old school type that has an agitator and not high efficiency. I wanted water in my clothes. Well, they dont make those anymore apparently. All the ones we looked at were all some sort of high efficiency of some sort that doesnt use alot of water. Very few had an agitator in it. We needed one that could hold alot of volume for washing comforters and big loads of laundry. We finally settled on a GE with nothing special about it, mid range model with large capacity. Just large, no agitator and its high efficiency...its all we could find. I will have to say it washes really well, i dont think we have ever had put anything that needed washed twice and it gets even my nastiest trapping/hunting/working clothes clean. We had a whirlpool dishwasher when we moved in this place, got it brand new and it lasted almost a year before the computer went out in it. Had a service guy come out and quote us a price to fix it which was about what the thing cost to begin with. My wife drug it out in the yard, set it on fire, videoed the whole thing posted it on facebook and sent it to whirlpool. They did send a "sorry for your bad experience" reply LOL. We went and got a bosch dishwasher. That thing has a LED light that shines on the floor when its running...its needed cause you cant hear it when its on. I bet it would degrease and clean a tractor engine if you could fit it in the thing. Couldnt be happier with it.

Whirlpool SUCKS!
And I base that on lots of bad experience. If you look them up they also own most of the appliance brands now too. Kitchenaid? owned by whirlpool...along with maytag, roper, amana, jenn-air and a few others. Lots of these brands used to be their own company and made quite the name for themselves...then whirlpool bought em and they are garbage now.
