I haven't been able to stop laughing, here's what happened. 10 or 12 years ago my Mama called me excited and said she paid off her stone at the local cemetery and they had placed it. She asked if I would pick her up and take her there to see it, of course I said. So we get there and it's a bench, a bench. She said it was a Bit***** bench that when she was gone us kids could come and sit on it and bi*** about our problems and we would feel better. She said a lot of things that day, one in particular was that my oldest sister would be buried in the same cemetery and she was comforted by that. I said wow, I didn't know Sissy had a stone here. She said yes, right up yonder and we walked to it. So, I added Sissy's stone to the ones I took care of.

We lost Mama March of last year. I take care of her bench and a few more, baby nieces and nephews and my best friend, and of course, Sissy's. Well yesterday, I called Sissy because I seen in the paper one of our dear friends had passed. During the conversation she mentioned that she felt bad because she hadn't taken care of her Grandbabies stones for the winter. I told her to rest easy because I did, they were fine and I mentioned that I did Mama's and all the rest, even hers. She said what? When did you go back home to Kentucky? I said what, Kentucky??? No, I took care of your and Billy's stone at the cemetery. She started laughing to the point I didn't think she would stop, but she got there. She then said, bubby, our stone is in Kentucky, you've been taking care of a strangers stone. So there you have it, my dumb*** has been taking care of the stone of strangers for 10+years. Is that funny or what???

Yup, Somebody's gotta do it. Maybe that person's family doesn't care enough to do it, or better yet maybe they do care and appreciate that someone else cares too, (even if by accident).

At any rate, good for you, that you are taking care of the graves of your loved ones.
