One thing the south lacks is good Christmas trees. But they were flying off the racks at Lowe's today.

I've found these Alaskan spruce lose their needles if they're cut too early. Part of the reason I went artificial.
I'm not going to pay $80-100 for some dang tree at a nursery.

I have a nice Balsam Fir picked out. will get it after thanksgiving The smell of those trees is one of my favorite things about the Adirondacks.

My wife has had our tree and outside lights, etc, up since the weekend after Halloween, lol.

We just came out of a big pine tree area, (scouting) and seen 3 different families cutting their tree.

In recent years we haven't put up our tree until a couple days before Christmas. That way we can keep it up well into January. It seems to brighten up the dark days of winter for us.
