Good deal. I wonder if he has a little mule deer in him.? I have never seen a mule deer anywhere close to me, but he sure does have them splits like one. I have decided to get him mounted. I will probley never kill another like him. He doesn't score much but is very unique.

I have seen what people called crosses before, and that sure looks like one. Great deer. Maybe MTBowhunter can comment, he is in an area where crosses could be likely.
I saw a brute down near Wildhorse Colorado a guy shot that was the opposite. It was a mule deer with a very much whitetail rack. It had more overall mass than any deer of either type I have ever seen anywhere.

That is a gorgeous buck, no matter who his parents were! If he isn't skinned yet, take a photo of his tail and also his metatarsal glands. It is said that hybrids have distinctive metatarsals that are half way between a WT and a Mulie in shape. Ditto the tail.

I had him already skinned when I made the post but will go check the gland on the legs. The tail looked normal to me. I will take a pic of the glands later when the sun gets up.

Wow, great buck...congratulations!
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!
