Hope everyone doesn’t mind but just have to let off some steam
Last Sunday was in a car accident that totaled my new car hadn’t even had time to make a payment yet due to some idiot leaving there abandoned vehicle hanging out into traffic, late at night come around a curve and managed it just clip the corner which caused my car to flip and roll resulting in totaling it and a ride to the hospital for me so I spent the last week in moderat pain in my back, knee and shoulder topped off by not being able to totally close my left hand
And tomorrow I go in for surgery on my right hand to correct a work related injury
Deer season has been a bust along with trapping not that I was planning on doing much trapping but I did want to get out some sets to take the itch off and the plans I had to spend the last 4 days hunting are just as dead due to not being able to handle a rifle without pain
Man I could use some good luck coming for a change

just look at the good thing ,your alive !!!, know one else got kill. you will be able to hunt an trap next year or in a few weeks , you don't have to look far to see someone that wont be around next month or year ,
Yep,look at the bright side-you could have been paralysed from the neck down and need taken care of like a baby for the rest of your life. I'd be happy.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Always look on the bright side of life.

You don't rise to the occasion, you fall to the level of your training.
OP, I texted with a friend of mine today and I will tell you the same thing, keep diggin. I have health issues, truck issues and this and that and what not. Depression, self pitty are normal reactions but are a stage. By a stage I mean temporary. You pull yourself up, dust yourself off, and get on with it. You may have to accept new normal's, but that's ok. Keep digging because staying on this side of the dirt is an opportunity to do great things, if not for yourself, for others. Dig.....
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....
Believe me I know how lucky I am to still be on this side of the ground especially after seeing what the car looked like in the daylight if I knew how to post photos I would
The real problem is I am just so bored I can’t hunt set a trap or hold a book for any length of time
And there is only so much TV or internet I can take

I race... any accident you walk away from is a good one!
Its time to adapt, improvise, overcome, man! So, you can't deer hunt or run a regular trapline.
Does a cat live in your house? Get you a Nerf gun. They don't know weather to chase the ammo or run from it. Win-win.
No cat? No problem. Keep a door open a crack, and bait heavily to lure in some extra mice and run you an in-the-house longline. If your bum hand prevents you from setting mouse traps, design and build some custom setters.
In ain't over until YOU say its over! I surely hope that you heal up quick and are back to as good as ever, but now you need to keep your mind purposefully engaged.
I'm in the same boat with you... It's been a rough couple weeks. Bad deer season to start, and everything that could go wrong with a vehical has happend lately
want to hear the topper for today I drove 3 hours one way to reach the orthopedic surgeon walk up to reception and give my name only to be told I would have to reschedule due to there being unable to fit me in when this is the day and time they gave me, got up at 5 to be there by 8
