No, hearing all those reports is why I don't go on them. I had 3 younger farm couple in the early 2000s that went on cruises in the gulf every February for about 2 years. The 3rd year 4 of the 6 got sick from some type of food or drink poison and when the hit a port 2 went to a clinic or hospital and their insurance did not cover things and they wound up with a bill over $1,000. I helped them with their taxes every year but we could not deduct those costs as they did not have enough deductions to itemize.

I’ve been roped into two, the wife goes on two a year for the past 7-8 years now. Nothing wrong with the boat or the ports, I just don’t like crowds. The best cruise for me was right after a hurricane and the boat was only 1/4 full!! No lines and Filet Mignon every night for dinner! Plus the boat had a pizza joint that was part of the package we bought. I think I’m roped into #3 next Summer...but the wife has been on so many she (we) get special privileges...no waiting to board or depart and a few amenities thrown in. We are taking CJ (5 year old) on his first of many I’m sure.
