Thanks Nessy... I've only got to take her out once. Still trying to find that perfect load.
Mike Don’t feel bad....I haven’t shot mine this year either...where do the days go ? If you figure out where the days go, let me know. Lol Mike

I'm with Nessy... A smoothbore flinter. My .45 Bedford is a close second... (Hard to get a picture that does it justice) Mike Mike, that is a classic Bedford county rifle. I used to think that those Bedford "hockey sticks" were ugly, but they grow on ya. Seen some originals that had so much drop in the stock one wonders how they shot them. I'd own yours in a heartbeat. Actually isn't too hockey-stickish at all. I would have passed if that was the case. I didn't commission her but she fits like she was made for me. It's a little spooky how easily everything lines up when I shoulder her. Mike

Well, got me thinking 308 now. Thanks for changing my mind.
I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I've laid down many deer with my BAR .270. But...it's louder than a good poaching gun. lol.

One thing about a .270 is that if you get a piece of a deer, it don't go far. It's a bit overkill, lol.

I've had my Ruger 77 in a 280 for 23 years, many whitetails, mule deer, pronhorn and elk shot with it.Next year i need to break in the new rifle,a Christensen Arms Mesa 7 mm that i just won for our Big Buck contest,i'm sure it will shoot very well, had i not won it i'd never spend that much on a rifle, now i need to figure out what optic's to put on it,leaning towards a Zeiss.
