I put new tires on a week ago had a low one today pumped it up and took it to get looked at, it had 2 places that soybean stems went through it (10 Ply) tires I can't believe it would do that but I seen it myself when he was fixing it.

I've ran bean stubble through a number of sidewalls which were 10 ply. Always irritates me because they refuse to fix the sidewalls...which results in a whole new tire. I've actually found surprisingly less issues in corn fields than bean fields which blows my mind. It's hard to argue with them as they pull the stalk out in front of you. I kill a lot of tires every year though...so much that I carry a floor jack and an impact trapping. Working smarter not harder.

If one would stick to the field roads and not the fields the problem would be solved.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

If one would stick to the field roads and not the fields the problem would be solved. Not always possible here. Places you can drive for a long ways along a ditch with no lane. Buffer strips are nice. I try and straddle the bean rows as well as possible, when you have to turn around can't help but go over them. In the same spot for awhile I try and turn around in the same spot. I once had a corn stalk stick right through the inside sidewall of a tire.Corn stalks are hard on tires to. I seen a combine where one of the stalk smashers was missing on one side and what a difference in tire damage.

Same here, bean stubble is hard in side walls. I had to quit driving on bean fields and either stick to lanes and or walk em in to check only. Corn stubble can be bad also unless I just stick to driving in on lanes where the tractors and semis really flattened down a good path in for me. I've had to adjust and adapt, and walk a lot more of my line over the years. Jim

Many years ago I saw corn stubble go through combine tires. It was common. With pickup tires, you can alleviate the problem by getting away from radial tires and go with bias.....then the sidewall doesn't belly out like a radial tire does. But, I don't know if bias tires are even available anymore.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

If one would stick to the field roads and not the fields the problem would be solved. Out here it is common to have fields that cover a section or more, and with just an approach or two. I can't say I have seen many field roads here.

Might have them pull the sensers out and snot the tires all around until spring. No real roads here like stated just big fields and limited location if you have good locations you need to get to them.
Looks like a 2nd set of tires and wheels is in my future.

I had that happen with b range tires 30 years ago, never with Firestone or Goodyear, or Michelin d-e range tires, 10 ply, One stem went through the tread pattern the other the curve of the tread.no clue yet on the other tires

That's pretty odd seems to me, I had shale flakes on wy gravel roads puncture a couple 10 ply, that's only thing that I had trouble with, coopers failed with 1/3 tread gone, twice so I never bought them again, and they were shorter that Firestone and Michelin, figured I lost 1mpg with those junk tires, hankooks are hard riding and new tires twice hydroplaned on one inch of snow, never bought those crap tires again either

Foam fill the tires if you're working or driving thru fields. It's not cheap, but you'll never have a flat tire. Last time we filled tires it cost $1.25 per pound. Well worth it.

The guy at the Coop said the way they are changing the plants to being drought resistant has something to do with it, no clue about that. LOL Same brand I run Nexen M/Ts but a different size so that could be a whole different plant that makes them in a different country. Never had a issue with the 15 inch ones I have been running for several years.
