When I was a young'un a long long time ago, I wanted a slingshot like my best buddy's parents bought him for his B day. But Mom and Dad would not get me one...… for whatever reason, can't remember as that was over 55 years ago. This year while hunting with my crossbow my brothers cattle would sometimes come in to my stand and never leave unless I chased them off. Never again, as I was at my local Wally World and bought myself a BRAND NEW Daisy Powerline F 16 slingshot. That and some ammo ought to make them cows move !!! I made my own slingshot as a kid from sticks that formed a Y and old inner tube rubber and leather from old shoes. Guess I was just like Ralphie.... only I wanted a fancy made slingshot. And now I have one.... never to old to be a kid...…….. Again, at least in sprit !!

Killed my first skunk with a slingshot. I was about 4 or 5 at the time impressed the land Lord so much he almost took his thumb off trying to kill a snake in the chicken barn.

I had a Wrist Rocket 47 years ago. I use to shoot ground squirrels with it. I ran out of ammo so I started using hickory nuts. Every shot had a cork screw flight pattern so you needed to pay attention to the distance of the shot.
I need a new one now...

I am not a fanatic, but I have several slingshots. I shoot enough that the Daisy white marbles and steel shot got too expensive. I picked up a .30 cal round ball shot mold and cast a few hundred a couple times a year. Honestly most of my shooting is at those flying crap factories some call Canada Geese. At work they are nasty on golf greens, at home my beach and dock are another hotspot. It can be fun. Watch some guys on You Tube, to get your sighting routine down, buy some extra bands and watch for cracks where they go on slingshot. Another good tip is storing in airtight bag like a Ziplock, ozone rots the rubbers. I have taken a couple rabbits with mine so far. Maybe too much info...but dang they can be fun.

Wrist Rocket probably 50 yrs ago.
Walked the tracks and trails of the UP.
Iron ore pellets because of the ready supply.
Only small game targets was Partridge, and Showshoe Hares.
Definitely tuned your stalking abilities.

Dad used to keep ball bearings for a neighbor kid, the bigger the better, even if him or grandpa would pull the bearing off they would cut it with a torch just to get the balls out for him.

Farmhunt, I thought it was just me with the eastwing axe. I got mine about three years ago. I've always wanted a pair of Danner boots I got those last week. I still haven't got the Puma knife yet that I wanted so bad when I was young, not the cheap "new" puma's. Maybe someday.

Only thing is you can not use sling shot in the winter when it is cold. One shot and that is it. LOL

Wrist rocket back in the 70s can’t remember what I payed for it but believe it was under 4 dollars which at the time were hard to come by, but that thing put a lot of meat on the table for us rabbits, Phesants, squirrels ducks and other small game and I must confess outside of season but when your hungry you do what you have to

Taconite pellets make for great slingshot ammo but nice round golf ball size river stones have a better thump

Wrist Rocket here also. I have no idea when I got it, but it was well over 50 years ago.....and I still have the original, albeit with new rubber installed. I whacked all manner of game with mine.

In about a thousand years, the archeologists will have a difficult time explaining the 180 degree arc of marbles, tacconite, ball bearings, and 5/16 hex nuts centered from my front doors location.

Yes the hex nuts do shot pretty good, and 1.49 a pound is affordable.

From ages 5-12 I don’t think I left the house without mine. Killed my first rabbit with one in Brownwood TX. I remember it like yesterday!
