A friend unintentionally made me feel guilty for not checking in . He didn't say anything , just seemed like an implied . So good work , Catch ! LOL

Little setback . Was supposed to have an ablation 11/20. After I was asleep for the procedure , they inserted a camera down my throat to get a look behind the heart and , sure enough , was a big clot still in there. No can do . Big fear was dislodging it and sending it out elsewhere . Hence , we'd been right back to where we started in August or worse. I'm on enough blood thinners ( Xarelto ) to clear it , hopefully in another month to revisit the ablation. They would prefer I not shave , sharpen broadheads , or play with knives until I am put on a different dose. Learned this morning its scheduled for 2/7 to try again.

According to my neurologist , well, good news and bad news . The brain damage allows me complete mobility . Aside from getting tired occasionally, feel pretty good . Eyesight took a little hit but nothing readers can't do. Bad part is my communication circuits took a pretty big bashing . On scans , the area looks like it appears when they're tracking hurricanes on the news. Like a damage path . And the neurological fairy ( she does look like a little Indian fairy ) , did an incredible job of explaining how the damage does , and will , effect communication.

"Communication" is a pretty big word for things we do all the time without thinking about . Listening , visual cues, voice inflections , context , subtext , phrasing and organizing responses , addressing multiple people , etc.. Well, it's pretty shot in the area that works it. One on one, really not a big deal unless there's issues hampering it . Things like heavy accents , fast talkers , cross-talk , environmental stuff , etc.., will completely throw me off . Simple instructions can be tough to follow . Some of it can be pretty funny . My family doesn't set me up for failure , but completely butchered sentences will get them laughing . Usually , its when I try to correct a phrase mid-sentence , then it can be pretty funny . Socially, I'd just rather not . I get made to attend things, but I would prefer to duck out . My old careers would've been impossible. I can only imagine .

But , I'm not having to learn how to use a fork . Or walk. Speak . Or possibly worse . Incidentally , Stephanie has had it much worse . For all counts , she thought I was dying before her eyes , had to sign for me to be injected with a drug that'll either breakdown the clot or turn my brain to mush , rode with me on Life flight , then she had to contend with what came out of surgery as no one was completely sure of the outcome. A lot of big things came at her quick.

Will be dropping some rat colonies soon . Might as well enjoy another season we've been given. Love you all and thank you for thoughts and prayers .
