Do you have a certain little shovel you like to carry on your snowmobile? I'm getting my machine ready to use for my 12/26 bobcat season. I finally found a rear cargo rack by the way smile

If beaver trapping a big aluminum snow shovel in the sleigh.
You can always use a snowshoe for a snow shovel if you bog the machine in an pinch.
A come-along(and rope),old bumper jack,or a heavy rachet strap all come in handy.Dont forget limb loppers too,and of course an axe.

Black diamond folding avalanche recovery shovel in the cargo box. Light portable and not cheap. If I think I’m gonna really need one I keep a grain shovel in the sled.

I have been using the Voile Telepro T6 for years and have been very happy. Having a sturdy lightweight shovel with an extendable handle and D on the end of the handle sure makes it easier on my back.

I started carrying an aluminum square mouth shovel for beaver trapping. Works great.

For snowmobiling though I have never in twenty years of doing stupid stuff felt the need for one.

Much more useful in my opinion is a powderjack. THAT I wont leave home without. Ignore the corny dude in the video. I have the original one piece unit. Works really well if mired in slush. Jack sled up, clear slush, cut some poles a put them under the track, and drive out.

I remember once dropping the front of the sled into a sort of crevasse in the rock. Ten mins of messing with the jack, and had lifted the front of the sled clear out of the hole.

A come along is handy for lifting your machine out of the slush-just got to cut the poles first to make a tri pod.Its good if you have to let the trail freeze up overnight-lift the front and brace it out of the slush then lift the track up and clear it.Then you can leave it until your trail freezes and drive away next morning.
I find the limb loppers real handy when brush busting trails into beaver houses.A lot of times the skis get jammed up in tag alders and they are a lot easier to free up with heavy duty limb loppers than with an axe.
Who sells the powder jack Hutchy? Is it strong enough to lift the front of a big machine?

I now ski doo has a very nice telescopic shovel with a very high quality saw in the handle. I no longer run a snow machine but still got the shovel in the truck or wheeler.

Let me sugar coat this

I dunno about a four stroke swt, but it will lift the front of my voyageur to eye level without trouble.

As for where to buy, pretty sure I got mine direct from the company years ago.

So I have been going to get a powder jack and kept putting it off. I figured this was a good time of the year to talk the wife into a Christmas present and I can't find the things on line. Does anybody know where? Are they no longer in business ? Is there someplace to buy them?

I can't find the old powder jack but it looks like there are a couple other companies making similar jacks now.
