NPR has done a few stories on black women wearing fur too. Basically it was a status symbol in a time when black people were relegated to being second class citizens. Good stuff, and good for them.

I doubt that any of the ignorant responders to that article have ever given a second of thought to how hard all animals eventually die if they are not humanely harvested by trappers or fur farmers.

Every older black woman I know owns at least one beautiful fur coat.


The reason why NYC reversed its fur ban is because minorities and especially blacks protested.


Anytime I'm in a urban area and I have a hip hop station in I hear a commercial for the local furrier.

no one and I mean no one should be apologizing for eating a steak , a burger , fried chicken or wearing fur or wool.

eat well , keep warm , invest in things that last , it is a 1000% greener than these hypocrites that wear petroleum and fly every wear in a private jet or first class and tell the rest they should not waste fuel.

yeah because my once a decade ride in coach was wasting so much of their fuel and atmosphere.

nothing greener than putting on your wool socks, leather boots , fur coat and walking to the market
