Just butchered 50 pekin and saved all the down.

Any good ideas on what's the best way to clean and dry it? I've heard sew in pillow case and just run it through wash and dry?

Just tie the pillow case shut and run it through the washing machine and dryer.

Did you ever get into the wholesale duck egg market and if so, how did it go?

Remodeling room as we speak. Had state and county out to tell if I was able and what I had to do.

Need to cordon off one room and make it a sterile room for egg prep and storage. Cleanable surfaces, water reaching certain temp in predetermined amount of time. Floor mats for shoe sterilization, etc...

Have clients lined up.

Looking into buy a dinner as well where I can wholesale them myself. So in the situation I'll make egg room at my house then ship them to dinner to be sold.

I think the goats now know what time of year it is. Kinda keeping distance now that they witnessed ducks go in the freezer.

Kept all the heads for K9 sets

Butchered everything we had in order to make room for golden 300s. I'm gonna cage them so I can control every aspect of their inviroment. Feed them popcorn mixed feed for non GMO certification.

Lol

Won't be able to say "free range". But don't think I won't say "farm fresh" non GMO!

The Chinesse trade pays $ 5 for the duck legs pairs,
With the feathers it is best to De-quill them by grabbing side rip, then the other side rip, snip the stiff quill off-discard, so now you have 3 pieces of down.
Do that 100 times;
Stop, take a sip of beer; and
Repeat it;
Either till you
Finish
The case of beer or the job.
Then you buy some ticking down prof weave cloth and make you pillows.
Use a soap with lanolin in it to wash the pillows.

Now you know why # 1; duck down is $ 300.00 pound

It take that muck beer to process it !

You'll want to use a good down garment soap, not regular laundry soap.
