Any opinions, good or bad bout using yote meat as a base bait before adding a bait solution. Just a thought as there is obviously more meat on a yote than a fox.

Ya can't miss fur if yur traps are out somewhere.
Or so I've been told.

I made a three meat trio a couple years ago using bobcat, fox, and coyote. I can’t remember whether I put Dobbins or a Nelson formula on it and then scraped a couple 1/4 bottles of old lure in it as well. I ran short of bait this year so I broke it out, it was highly deteriorated but I caught coyotes on it.

Best way to tell how good a base is is to test it by itself to see how much attraction it has. The right ingredients can make a base that doesn't have much attraction look decent.

Deer and beaver are the best in a bait pile. I've never tried bobcat cause we can't keep in Indiana. Muskrat OK. Coyote is bottom of barrel here, fox second from bottom.
