Goldnut.....this one is burnt out...lol.....but I have other engines with smoke, electro Un-couplers, and cruise control , all kinds of sounds....ever since the computer chip hit the Choo Choo trains ...the possibilities are endless....you can even run your trains with and I-Pad or Smart Phone !

Nice! My father had a great old train that still smoked He wound up selling it which perturbed me greatly. I always thought it would be an heirloom and I would have bought it had I known he was selling it. Wish I knew who had it, I would buy it back.

I should but I don't. Haven't set my train up for about 50 years, maybe more. I do remember the Christmas I got it. I think it would have been about 1955, that was the only thing I wanted for Christmas. I had phenomena at Christmas time and was really sick. I remember my mother was really upset because the train was ordered from the Montgomery Ward Christmas catalog and did not get delivered in time for Christmas. I guess I was so sick I didn't really notice. A few days later when I finally got better the train came in the mail and I was a happy camper.

I don't. I was never in to trains as a kid. But now I see the attraction and see how cool it would be to tinker with them. Right now I am restoring a old kerosene lantern from the 20's. When I can, I love to tinker. I can maybe see getting in to trains but I believe it a expensive hobby now. Your fortunate to have one. That's a cool pic, would like to see some smoke...

Well...I didn’t have trains when I was a kid either.... Bought my kids some trains in 1999...they were 8 and 11 years old...we had a blast...now they are older and don’t run trains ...but I do..lol . Love weathering the trains and making them look rusty and old. There is a lot to the train hobby.

Awesome....just make sure you clean the track good...that will save a lot of head aches.

I loved model trains when I was a child growing up in Brooklyn.

We actually put a tree up this year... But I don't have a train under it. I have all of my father-in-law's model railroad stuff and a lot of the stuff I had from when I was a kid...

But I'm keeping my mouth shut about it. I'm afraid my wife will ask me to get it all out and set it up... And I already have a pile of stuff to do for Christmas. Lol

Love me some model trains!
We always git them out at Christmas when I was a kid. I'd put them out now but I feel like my dogs might destroy them.

Had a buddy growing up who's father was a hard core train fan! They had a huge model (12x40) that took up an entire room. You had to duck as soon as you opened the door to get under the table then you were in the middle of a very cool miniature world!

Well I got it set up. Need to get the smoke going. There is a back story to this train. Years ago my brother gave this to us for Christmas. I have never set it up before this. My brother passed a few years ago and I was going to keep it in the box to keep it new. After Ness gave me the inspiration, I set it up this evening. Thanks Nessy! I dont think my brother would want it left unused. He loved his trains since being a kid. Thank you to my brother and rest in peace Byron. Sorry so sappy.

I know. But it's never that simple with my Mrs. She and the boys went all out this year... Tree, inflatables in the yard, lights on the eaves and around the tree trunks...

She told me I wouldn't have to lift a finger...
