Anyone but the 9 dollar driver sold by a lot of trapping supply companies. Get one made by one of the professionals off here and no matter who you buy from it will take a beating. I know because they're the drivers I use and put through some serious abuse when the ground is froze solid.

I bought a wolf fang driver tip with intentions to weld one up but instead brought it to my local welding/machine shop and they used the measurements off my tip and made me a stainless one thatís tough and awesome looking.

made one from 5/8" rebar with a hand grinder in about 10 minutes . . . it lasted 5 years of abuse and still works just fine. I quit using wolf fangs but the driver is still perfect. I am in the south and we have relatively soft ground, fwiw

I know the standard one you buy with the pipe t handle at the top has design issues. The pipe used for the T's breaks off after 30-40 anchors pounded in. Seems a bad design from the theory on. Then the head mushrooms to oblivion shortly after. This is hard ground we are talking for the most part. Nothing soft or easy minus a water set or two. I redesigned the head on mine after i cut it up and re welded it and we will see how it lasts. I will likely go with a Stalker style driver as it seems he makes a really nice HD one that lasts. He is on here. I assume he might chime in on the conversation as he ahs put some thought into why they fail and what works for sure. I have read about it and seen them first hand top shelf product. And in actuality not much more money.

I bought my first one from Southern Snares. It lasted about 14 stakes before one of the tee handles broke off. The nut on top was still attached but a few stakes away from completely smashing off. I mentioned this to them and they replaced it with the upgraded, heavier duty model they came up with since I bought the first one. So far this upgrade has worked great. Very little, if any structural damage to it after 20 stakes or so, in both soft and frozen/rocky ground.

I used a Stalker for the first time last week and am very pleased with it. All the others I tried had a tendency to stick in the anchor about half the time and bend easily.

The reason they stick In the driver Is because the slot isn't wide enough. I make my own and never have any problems with the anchor sticking In the driver or having the driver bend on me. The reason the driver bends Is due to operator error.
