So If President Trump wins reelection, should the older judges on the court retire and let President Trump replace them with younger conservative judges? Not really a question I suppose, the answer would always be a yes. I guess the question is, do you think any of the judges will do this?

I think Thomas will, he has great foresight. I don't see RBG making it so she will be replaced. Imo, this is the last stand, the last of the Mochicans if you will. What needs to happen is Trump be reelected and for the SCOTUS to be a minimum of 6-3. That will ensure our way of life for a spell. After, will not result well for people like us and our way of life, our love for our Nation, our Flag, our Anthem, our FREEDOM. If we are blessed to live to a old age, we will be cast out to the winds and have to watch the loss of freedom and love of our great Country. Gotta keep digging, even knowing this.

Probably need to figure out who trump will nominate before retiring. Trump went off list for Kavanaugh so we dont have much trust getting anything better right now. Roberts can retire regardless who's in.

Should they? Absolutely. Mandated by an arbitrary age? No.

Would be nice if Ginsberg would modestly acknowledge her limitations and retire. It would also be nice if the retiring justice would publish an open letter stating their reason and why doing so is for the benwfit of the court which would help pressure others to do the same when their time arrives.
Much like Washington set a precedence without a mandate.

He's squishy and I'll never forgive him for his Obamacare bus toss. It seems it was once much more common for justices to die while sitting on the bench than it is today. Nowadays they tend to retire. There should probably be a mechanism in place to remove a justice short of impeachment. I don't see a remedy for removing a justice suffering from dementia.

There are so many new and different issues these days. The 2nd amendment is short and simple but they have to take it up because so many look at it much differently now than they use to, and have agendas.

There should be term limits and / or mandatory age retirement for ALL 3 branches of the government. It makes absolutely no sense that the president is the only one that is required to step down. It was never meant to be a lifetime job when you got elected or appointed, George Washington understood that. Our country is worse off for this practice

That's not true for scotus. They were supposed to be there long term and distant from politics....and in the basement of the capital.

Term limits for all 3 branches of Gov. 2 terms for all elected politicians, no retirement, no lobbying when done. 70 would be good retirement age for Scotus.

There is a difference from lifetime and long term. Distant from politics is impossible no matter what Roberts wants you to believe.

Potus should be buying RBG a big bunch of roses, she saved him having to turn in tax returns for the time being.

This, plus get paid the average wage in the country and have to but their own health insurance or get on a group plan like everyone else.

The Constitution says that judges " shall hold their offices during good Behavior..." That could be construed as 'lifetime' unless impeached and removed.

Even if Trump replaces to a 6/3 we will only have that until Democrats take ove as they can and will expand the court to a size that liberal judges will reign
