I have never, ever, ever, been disappointed in my daughter for being a girly girl before today. In preschool she brought home a project that requires the kids to bring in something that smells. Even gave them each a jar with a cotton ball. They are learning about the senses. What a totally lost opportunity for me to have some fun. She wants to use vanilla! Are you kidding? What self respecting 4 year old isnt up to something gross? It is even encouraged. Bad smells allowed according to the directions. Shaking my head.

The possibilities are endless. Gusto was my first instinct. But you could really go anywhere with this. I could even squeeze out some pure mink gland.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I wonder how angry your daughter would be if you swapped her samples tonight?

Vanilla actually is one of the leading scents that evoke a most remarkable response , according to many research studies in the perfume industry. And big dollars are invested in that industry to insure a leg up in the worldwide competition.

And, of course, beaver castor is in prime use in many scents , makeup products, and even some food products. Relators have long known the appealing properties that the smell of fresh, home baked vanilla cookies , or scent oils made of the same flavor, can do to clients touring a home for sale.

Vanilla's strong unique scent affects the whole being in many favorable ways.

Mr Paul's Tonquin Musk is to die for. I'll always remember his smile and twinkle in his eyes when he told me to " just try it and you'll see ", at his booth attending an NTA years ago , as I eyed the bottle warily ... He laughed at my pleasantly shocked expression when I opened the bottle and inhaled.

I was transfixed and hooked on that Musk ever since....combined with some vanilla , it is the perfect fragrance in perfume for me . I wear that vanilla musk to every trapping event , and elsewhere. It helps dilute some of the other scents at the shows, that are a bit too much close up, for me smile

Clay, your daughter is a smart wee lass. She knows the appealing nature and strength of vanilla , and how it is a perfect springboard to educate her classmates right on into trapping flavors. Beaver castor right on that list as well, then onto the rest.

Well done .

(Finally, I have the reasonable opportunity to use my trademarked catch phrase.)

Beaver castor has a distinct odor that is not objectionable or overpowering, and is unlikely to be taken by anyone else. It also will not stink up the entire classroom ruining the experiment for all.

I would send asafoetida. That stuff absolutely rocks. Tinctured castor is a close second.

Update. She opted for Dobbins All Call. Didnt like anything skunky or red fox urine. Cant imagine why. She didn't think it would be funny to gross out all her classmates.

We'll see if i can get an update tomorrow after school.

I remember as a kid going to the farmers market in Michigan and seeing a Father and daughter but the daughter was dressed 100 % like a boy, still think of that today.
