I've enjoyed reading the comments expressing respect for Jonathan and sadness at his passing. Also been looking at his archived posts which made me think of my favorites. I pose the question, what is your favorite Jonathan post or picture? Mine is his capture of a Greater Black Backed Gull on stormy waters with a large salamander in its beak. He had gifts of both observation and commentary.

He was a talented man. He could make common back-yard birds seem exotic. He will be missed.

One of my favorites was one he did about different trapping bags, buckets and baskets and all the variations trappers use. I found it very interesting. There were many others and most of his posts were thought-provoking and interesting but that one I remember. It was quite a few years ago, I don't know if it's archived or not.

I usually enjoyed when he chose to "drop some ink" on us.

Eh...wot?

I hope someone on here has been able to get a hold of Jonathan's family to let them know how much his presence was appreciated on T'man.

Below is a link to most of his posts since 2007. Many PhotoBucket pictures were lost.

Waggler , his brother contacted me last night with the message in email below. They have seen all the messages from the Tman Tribe and appreciate them greatly.

The man knew his stuff.

He will be missed greatly!!

It was so ironic that he could not hear most of the birds singing, 90% of birding is by sound and not sight.

And his pictures brought the sight into perspective, think of the 100's he deleated before that special one came forward.

Think of what would have happened if he got into bugs from the beginning ! All that creap crawly fealings we would be having now.
Thanks for sharing Sharon your reply

Question for Paul.....when did you give him a Title of Wilson ?

My favorite Jonathan post was the one which I was about to open as soon as I saw his name on the header.

I just followed LATrapper's link to the muskrat float collection. I'd forgotten about that one. It was fun going back and looking at the Picts and reading the commentary. Thanks!
