Anyone here sell to lathan petska? Did you feel you were treated fair?

I haven’t sold much to Lathan as I haven’t trapped for the past few years but what I have sold to him, he has treated me fairly. Never had a bad experience with Petska. Sure there’s been times I wish I got more but that’s not independent to the fur trade and has more to do with the market than anything. Marty used to run through our area. I always enjoyed him coming through as he helped show me how to grade fur or things I could do different with my put up. He’s ugly as sin though but that’s really his only downfall....

Thanks cole_train just wanted to know if they were on the up&up. know doubt where the fur market is now but it's still tons of work for the financial return. Just wanting to make it fair for both parties. thanks again for your input.

The prices they were paying for fur from this area last year were very good.

I know a couple of different groups that sold to them, one group sold on the route and one group went there and sold. I know they delt with different buyers but that's all I remember.

Ive sold to Petska last 6-7 years, feel ive always been treated good. Chance Smith is who runs my route, he told me how they wanted stuff finished so thats how i do it. Different areas offer different fur of course, but i averaged 56$/yote last year and im at 72$/yote this year finished, so i am completely satisfied with our business dealings. One thing i can say is he wont take much BS if you bring him bad fur, so i treat him good and he returns the same.

I have sold to Lathan a couple of times, but more often to Greg. With both I felt I was treated right. Greg has taught me alot over the years about coyotes and how to put them up.

I have sold to both Lathan and Greg plus a couple of his other buyers and feel I have been more than fairly treated by all of them.

Last year I grabbed 2 finished coyotes and them to one of Petska's buyers. He offered me 25 and 20 for them. I decided to keep them. Marked them and took to Groeny a couple of weeks later. He paid me 85 each. To be fair, maybe I didn't put them up like they want them.

I've never sold to them personally. He did just buy three arrow shot pups off my cousin for $40 a piece on the carcass....I'm thinking about looking him up. We don't have horrible coyotes but they were nothing special with a broadhead through them.

Everyone's fur is different.

If you take the time to put up your fur, and present it as best you can, petskas will buy it for what its worth.

If you're referring to me I guess I figured when you read broadhead through them you'd realize he wasn't trapping them at all. I'm sure you've been hitting the booze as usual as you finish yours up. $40 in the round for some pup coyotes from our end of the state with a gaping hole in them makes me wonder how high this market can go...

I havent started putting fur up, probably in a few days and way we go. Itll tke a week or two.

We will all get a chance to test the market w our fur. Ill do just fine, because I do the work to get the hides where they need to be.
