Psalm 24:3
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For you are with me, your rod and thy staff, they comfort me

One of two Scriptural texts related to the fact that all Scripture is God-breathed;
Paul's text; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (NASB)

Philippians 1:21 For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain!
Forgiveness is just a prayer away.

I've always loved Psalms 121:1-2. I will lift up mine eyes, unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
And working with these lanterns of late reminded me of Psalms 119:105. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart,
I John 3:20
My favorite story is in I Kings 22. It involved Ahab King of Israel, getting a visit from Jehoshaphat, King if Judah, and Ahab is attempting to get Jehoshaphat to go to war against Assyria with him.Hundreds of false prophets speaking in God's Name prophesy that Ahab will defeat the Assyrians. In the midst of this, the King of Judah says to Ahab, "Is not there one Prophet of God we can hear from?" Ahab replies in disgust that there is one named Micaiah, but he does not like him, as Michaiah always Prophesies bad things about Ahab. Ahab though hauls him to the event, and warns him to speak the Truth. Micaiah goes into a song and dance and Ahab blows up at him, so Micaiah tells him the future, and say, "You are going to die". Ahab is furious and orders him thrown into prison, and Micaiah responds, "If you return alive, then I am not a Prophet of God".
In all of this Micaiah tells of a scene before the Father in Heaven, asking the Heavenly host who will entice Ahab to his death. The spirits say different things, but one appears and says it will be a lying spirit in the mouths of Ahab's prophets. God says this spirit will succeed.
It is a fascinating insight into how the spiritual side works against evil people to remove them, so good people will have relief from persecution. In the following events, a very high strung man, who no one could control named Jehu was placed into the leadership of the northern 10 tribes to deliver them from the oppression in the nation.

Proverbs 27:27 And thou shalt have goat's milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens. It's a real Bible verse. I also like the song of Solomon. .

One that pertains to the madness of political correctness in this day and age is.
Genesis 6:9 This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.
It says he was righteous in his time. That meaning there where better men to come. So when you see the crazy’s wanting to take down statues of great men think about that verse
Everything the left touches it destroys

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places

I've learned a fair bit of Scripture in this, my first full semester at Seminary. It's been a hard, but wondrous transformational journey thus far. Two finals next week (New Testament Greek and Historical Theology) and then I'm off to trap with my lovely bride for a month! Half of one year down.... three and a half more years to go.
Ephesians 2:1-10 is another personal favorite - written by the Apostle Paul.

Like I tell my kids, you want to know how it began? Read Genesis, you want to know how it ends? Read Revelations. But everything in between those will dictate the kind of person you are. In the OT, I like the book of David.
