Put some carbide studs on my new VK540. Had a pretty big client and the studs got into the tunnel. Really did a number on it. Actually cut the tunnel in strips. Yea I heard them scraping but thought it was the hitch on my skimmer as that had busted and I had it rigged differently. Im going to put a sheet of metal up under the tunnel but cant decide if I should use pop rivets or weld it in. Any ideas?? Yea I did remove the studs. The suspension is real soft on the new VKs.

Everything else is riveted so why not!

Pop rivet. And if you want to get real fancy find the right mandrel to draw through the hole before riveting to work harden the perimeter of the hole.

Screw in studs in the lugs is what I used to use. Had to bolt a couple hi fax, slides, inside the tunnel to prevent tunnel wear.
