Report: FedEx Driver Fatally Shoots Robbery Suspect During Package Delivery

A FedEx driver in Philadelphia, PA, fatally shot an alleged robbery suspect during a package delivery on Tuesday night.
CBS Philadelphia reports that the incident occurred around 7 p.m. and that the FedEx driver was also shot but is in stable condition.
The 27-year-old robbery suspect was “shot multiple times in the chest and back.” The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the robbery suspect was found unconscious in an alley following the incident and died around 8:30 p.m.
FedEx released a statement following news of the shooting, saying: “We are aware of the incident in Philadelphia this evening. The safety of our team members and service providers is a top priority and we are cooperating fully with the investigating authorities at this time.”

More robbers, thieves and burglars need to be shot. Not necessarily killed but at least shot .

And just so you dont think I want chaos and the old west ways again....after each shooting there should be a thorough investigation but framed to ensure that the victim acted in good faith rather than trying to pin them for a crime.


Nice thing about WI is if you and a buddy go to rob a place and your buddy gets killed, you get charged for his death, not the victim.

I don't like the sound of "shot multiple times in chest and back." Could be a problem for the driver. Given that the driver was also shot may keep it from being a problem. I personally have no problem with shooting someone in the back who has just shot me, even if they are trying to run away, but the AGs office in Philly may feel otherwise.

My uncle and I were talking to his UPS driver yesterday the discussion of the UPS being kidnapped and held hostage and being killed came up. During the conversation I asked what's UPS's stance on drivers defending themselves? He said they aren't even allowed to carry pepper spray let alone a gun. I asked if they are reconsidering that policy and he said he wasn't aware about it but highly doubts it.

Well for one that he DA you got to remember there the ones that decide if it goes to trial and sadly for a lot of them it is not about justice but about making a name for themselves or supporting a political agenda

And even if you win in court it’s going to be expensive both in time and money along with wear and stress if the media gets involved in trying to crucify you for what was a good self defense shooting
