Does anyone sell their castor frozen green? I know you lose a lot of weight when you dry it, but of course it sells higher. Does anyone know what a fair price would be??? Who buys it green? Any help is appreciated.

No reason to sell it green. Drying it properly only takes a week or so at the most and you should only lose about 20% max of the green weight. From what I have seen buyers will severely discount what they pay for green castor just to be cautious.

Figure out what dried castor is worth.

Figure your going to loose about 20% when drying it.

Then what someone's time and risk is worth buying it green and drying it down.

I Heard 2nd hand that Castor brought nearly $80.00 a pound

at the Independent Fur Harvester's of CNY auction in Pompey, N.Y.

last weekend. I'm assuming that was for dry Castor but i wasn't

present to say for sure.

Most everybody knows by now that with ultra low beaver prices that castor supply does not meet demand. Hasn't for several years now. But there does seem to be a ceiling price for it internationally, so therefore collectors have to reconcile how much profit is the minimum they can take for their investment.

For the most part I have seen castor prices peak late in the season. Don't expect it to hit $100 though.
