saw this yesterday while on the beaver pond , [Linked Image]

If you have never caught a mink, I say set a trap for it!
If you have, you may want to leave it live and study that place as much as possible to learn more about them.
I have 3 mink in the fur harvesters auction for the past 2 season and have yet to sell them.
The one you are looking at may be worth more to you to learn from.
Mink will shine again some day and by studying this one, You will have the "uppers" on some folks.
All this is just my humble opinion of course.

Missed the part where The op. knows what he is doing! Sorry.
I will leave what I wrote previously because I'll stick to it!
If I wanted the mink, I would cut a hole in that muddy trail and sink a 1-1/2 coil spring flush. Wax paper and just a brush of snow. Years ago I caught red fox in that exact situation you show and with the set I described so stake/drag accordingly.
