My First was a 69 Mustang Coupe that I bought for $400, restored and souped up. I wound up rolling it back in my early 20's

Mine was a 1962 Ford Falcon Club Wagon. Except for the roof top carriers, mine looked very close to this, even the rust.

I remember one time in the winter we were having a snowball fight and the door of the van was open. The ignition switch was on the dashboard right by the door. Somebody threw a snowball and it went in the van and hit right on top of the ignition switch, filing it with snow. ("Man, I'm setting here laughing about it now".) Every time I started the van that winter I had to bend down to ignition switch and blow in it, to thaw it out, so it would turn. The comments were never-ending.

In wet weather, if it set overnight, I had to hang a trouble light by the distributor, to keep the moisture out, so the thing would start.

The first couple of years that my dad, and I, went deer hunting, that is what we stayed in.

Not the first car I ever drove, but the first one I bought. '67 Scout with the slant 4 and hydraulic wipers. Bought it in Belgrade Montana in 1978 and this picture was taken by my dad when I was a fishing guide in northeastern California and cowboyed in the winters. Rust finally got the best of the Scout but it covered a lot of ground between Montana, Colorado, Kansas and California.

'68 Dodge Coronet, slant 6, three on the column. It still had a snarl of old traps and wire in the trunk when I sold it a few years back

My dad had a 64 Mercury Comet convertible stick shift on the floor four barrel 289. He had it in highschool. It sat in the barn my whole life being swallowed by groundhog holes and buried in coon crap. He passed in 04 and I sold it in 2015 probably when I was cleaning up the farm. He sold it to go into the airforce and bought it back from the guy when he rotated back to the states.

I still have his cushman scooter though.

My first car was a 1980 mustang hatchback in 1993. 2.3L 4 cylinder. It was a light blue car with a white hatch and rust through the floor boards.

Ha Ha,

My first vehicle was a 1966 Dodge Cornet with a Slant 6 cylinder engine.

I might still be driving it if I hadn't drove it into a deep ditch and totaled it

screwing around while burning rubber on wet pavement. laugh

59 rambler. Guy came into the dorm griping about his car and wanting to get rid of it. I offered him $25 and he said sold. Drove it for about 6 months and then decided to rebuild the engine. As soon as it was all in pieces my buddy left for a forestry job. 45 years later I still bring up the time he walked out on me in my hour of need. Learned a valuable life lesson from that car - that there was zero chance that I would become an auto mechanic.

In the 1990's I heard some young guys talking about buying a pair of tennis shoes for $125. I shook my head and told them that was 5 times what I paid for my first car.

I don't mean to hijack thread. It's just when you talk vehicles I couldn't help myself. I may have forgotten one or two.
Sometimes the yard looked like a used car lot. Most Saturdays were oil changes and washing vehicles.
