This evening, Friday the 20th, I had the pleasure of selling fur to Trevor Barnes at Barnes Hide and Fur. He arrived with his well lit trailer ahead of schedule and there was a group of trappers in line with their fur. There is another gentleman, John, with Trevor at the door to his trailer that took my name and address as well as my trappers license information. This was difficult for me and others in that I use my drivers license instead of carrying my paper work from the DNR. If you plan on selling to Trevor at his upcoming stops bring your DNR customer ID # with you to speed up the process. Unlike some other buyers, Trevor welcomes you to come into the trailer where he will grade your fur in front of you and offers advice and answers questions throughout the process. When finished, a price is written down to offer for your fur. If you accept, a check is promptly written in your name and you are on your way.

Some averages offered and heard. Keep in mind these are averages for the fur in front of him, put up by you, stretched on wood or wire and will vary based upon primeness, quality of put up and other considerations.

Coyote $45-55
Beaver $15-18
Muskrat $2.50-3.25
Raccoon $12.50
Mink (Bucks) $8.00
Beaver tails (frozen whole) $.75 +/-

Barnes Hide and Fur will be at the following locations tomorrow:

Dec 21st

Ladysmith
Rusk County Fairgrounds
8 am to 11 am CST

Spooner
Tubari LTD. Corporation
12:45 pm to 2:45 pm CST

We've dealt with countless folks during our many decades of trapping, owning a trapping supply business, etc. and we'll say that Trevor Barnes is as honest as they come, hard working as anyone we know, and focuses on treating you right to see you next time. Great ethics.

Heck, we just box stuff up now and ship him furs as he ALWAYS goes above and beyond for us.
Appreciate an honest outlet for furs and we predict you will too.

Trevor is dressed for action I see. Looks to be an office on wheels.

Sounds like you had a good experience Chris. Trevor has always been great for me to deal with. He's a great guy and a fair man.

Trevor needs to get Is route advertised In the local papers If he's going to succeed. Not everyone reads TMan.
I talked to Cobber about this.

I hope he gives groney a run for his money. We need as many outlets as we can muster.

Still time to see Trevor in Spooner for those interested. Hope he can help some out before Christmas.

We sold to Barnes yesterday in baraga Mi, only brought a few otter castor and beaver tails. Averaged $26.50 on the otter, sold 48 beaver tails for a buck a piece and sold over 7 pounds of castor for $60 a pound.

Trevor,

We'll be selling you all our sheds this year also sir. This ranch has a few laying around we are allowed to keep.
You treated us super fair last year on the sheds, so you'll have quite a pile to go through this year brother.
