2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Z71 LTZ. Picked mine up on Halloween and has been a pain ever since. I did get 19 days of enjoyment out of it until I discovered the rear window leaking from the corners during a three day rain we had. My son actually found it and got chewed out by me for spilling a drink in the truck(I had to apologize for that one he was following the rules and didn't have a drink in the truck). A quick search online shows this is a problem that has been known since day one. GM has issued a TSB on how to repair the problem. The first trip into the dealership for repairs took 16 days. The next day it was still leaking so it went back for 5 days. Also has a stained headliner from the water leaking in so back for a cleaning for two days. This makes it 23 days in a loaner(our lemon law is 20 days or 4 trips to dealership). I get a call from them after texting the manager pictures of it leaking for a third time that they want it this past Monday so I take it in. They are telling me the headliner and rear window they now want to replace is on nationwide backorder and they have no idea when I'll get my truck back. Yesterday one of my dispatchers drover her husbands truck to work. The more I saw it the more I was curious if theres had been leaking. I told her I've just got to look at your rear window. She laughed and said go ahead its not leaking. Took my flashlight and shined at the inside corners and there it was. Water streaks where the water had run down the window on both the left and right sides along with a water stained headliner. I also could see where the plastic window frame had cracked. If you've got one I'd check it everytime it rains. Some leak from the factory and some leak six months later. I found my initial info on a GM forum. There is about 50 pages on this one thread about the window leaks. If anyone knows how to contact a regional manager for GM for the Eastern NC area please pm me the senior customer service advisor can't do anything and it takes her two days to call me back. The dealership is doing what GM tells them to do and this is severly impacitng my lifestyle. Can't take a loaner deer hunting(seasons over with as of Jan1 here). Can't go tow a boat to the beach in a chevy malibu loaner to go fishing. Scared to take the malbu to Snowshoe on a ski trip scheduled and payed for for Jan 1-5th. And can't pull a pig cooker to church to cook for 5th Sunday worship service. Ok guys rant over.

I know a guy that has drove used older model trucks all his life. Decided he was finally going to buy a new one. Bought a Chevy Colorado with 0 miles. Drove it 3,000 miles and noticed it shifting hard. Took it into the dealership they said it drives fine after having it for a week. He took it back to them shortly after still shifting rough. They tore apart the transmission and said he had "metal shavings" inside the transmission. Drained the tranny and said good to go again. Ended up a few weeks later in for a rebuild. I told him I'd be asking for a complete new transmission or a completely new truck......He's lost multiple time etc. back and forth to the dealership...also has been driving a loaner vehicle. It's been about a month ordeal all together. From everything I've read it would be hard for me to get inside a Chevy or GMC these days especially as proud as they are of them.

Man. Mines an ‘18. But now I wanna go check and it won’t be daylight for another 30 minutes or so. Thanks for scaring the crap outta me.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I bought a 2019 Custom Trail Boss in July. Great truck... No complaints... No leaks.

If you've got a loaner, demand that it be a pickup truck, that's what you paid to drive.

I broke myself down(wasn’t hard to do) and bought a new 2020 custom trail boss in September, no complaints from me so far. I wanted a truck with work interior and brake controller. We have had some wicked rain since then and I haven’t seen any leaks.

That’s a bummer about your truck, John. I would head back to the dealer and get a loaner pick up with a hitch, drive it like you would your truck. Tow your boat, and do whatever you would do with your truck. Your life is already being inconvenienced through this ordeal, why be inconvenienced anymore. Hope it gets straightened out for you.

The only truck they have as a loaner is a Colorado and its not big enough to tow the boat and the papers I signed to borrow it last time stipulated no towing or driving off of paved surfaces. And it wasn't available and they also didn't know when it would be. I'm also liable for damages to it. I'd check that 2020 out every time it rains. Some of these trucks are leaking 6 months after they were purchased which leads me to believe its a body flexing issue. The rear window does not have a rubber seal like they used to. Its a polyurethane caulk seal.

I couldn't believe how cheap the Custom Trail Boss was. When I got it, everyone assumed my wife picked it out because I am too cheap to have a "fancy" truck. It was only about $3000 more than the work truck.

What color did you get? I went with the silver and I get compliments everywhere I go.

I got a 2018 Silverado that has been great. The only thing I don't like about it is all the buttons that I never use. The steering wheel alone has 14. I don't know what half of them do. Once driving along, I must have bumped a button that changed to a screen that told me the air pressure in each of my tires. Had to dig through the owner's manual to get back to the prior screen.

Give me a low mileage, older truck next time.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

Well, that sucks John. I just got a 19 Nissan Frontier and I like it just fine so far.

Hopefully eventually they take care of everything and it turns out to be a sweet truck.

(I now that consumer advocate Clark Howard always said if you couldn't get satisfaction from "Customer No-Service" to go down to the dealership on a Saturday and hang around and complain loud enough to be overheard. People taking that step seem to really get management's attention).

both the 19 and the 20s have the identical body and they both have the same problem with the leaking rear windows.

John, that really stinks. I’m sure you paid a pretty penny for that truck, that LTZ package is pretty luxurious. It’s funny how they can cost you time out of your life after making a major purchase and then limit your lifestyle. I’d wanna do some neutral drops with that rental, but I couldn’t cause I have a conscience. I will check for sure, last thing I need is problems like that with a vehicle. Any idea where your truck was manufactured/assembled? I think mine was Indiana.

Coonsbane, mine is a metallic blue, looks blue, black, or purple depending on the light. Hard to keep clean this time of year. I couldn’t find one in silver or I would’ve bought it in that color. The trucks a lot like me, looks good on the outside and all business inside, lol.

Mine came out of Mexico but the people on the GM forum are having the issue from all of the plants. I cut the check for $50,330.85 for the truck. Paid in full when I picked it up.

Ugh-that’s a lot more than I paid for my truck, I’d be sick to my stomach, regardless
