Any of you folks have any experience with one of these? If so what are your thoughts? I have wanted a .410 for awhile now, and found one of these for sale locally.

They were made from '37-'67 and many parts are available at gunpartscorp
I'd see what they going for at www.gunsamerica.com and gunbroker and gunsinternational

You'd be wise to shoot if first...with short as well as 3" shells if it is so chambered.

I know a guy in his 50's now that got one when he was a kid. It was used when he got it. He still hunts squirrels with it. I think they they made a lot of those bolt action guns. Pretty simple and not a lot to wear out. He has put multiple thousands of rounds through his

They seem like neat little shotguns. The one I was looking at is in very nice shape and was gone over by a local gunsmith.

My Grandfather was the first person to take me hunting .He was in his 70's when I become old enough to go along .He had hip and leg problems so for him sitting by a tree trying to kills a squirrel was hunting He always carried a 59 A that was in bad shape The stock was cracked and taped with electrical tape I was more or less a single short because it did not feed sheels properly most of the time. I would like to have one that was in decent shape but not at some of the prices I see them go for

I have a Bolt action 410 except it's a Mossberg. I got it when I was nine. 46 years ago. Still shoot a squirrel and starlings with it. Lots of fun.

I worked on lots of them. Most of the time it was extractor problems.

What do you have going on?

I have used one a few different times. Even shot a coyote with it. You'd be surprised how deadly a 3" 7 1/2 shot can be at 15 feet. lol

Marlin and Winchester each made them in recent history.

I have nothing clever to put here.

The lever actions I have seen were single shots.

For a 59A 410 or the lever gun.

This was my first gun when I was a kid. Bought it from a pawn shop for $30. I paid $15 and my dad paid the other $15. I reblued the metal and refinished the stock myself. Mine had the detachable box magazine. I just used it for squirrels, rabbits, and pigeons. I loved it.

But guess what, it had a little extractor clip on the bolt and the clip broke. The gun was stolen from me in a home burglary before I got the extractor fixed.

I would love to buy another one someday just for nostalgia's sake. I had an opportunity at the last gun show I went to but talked myself out of spending the money on it. I've been kicking myself ever since.

Mine had a black, stamped metal clip for an extractor. It just snapped into a groove on the end of the bolt. The one I saw at the gun show recently had a milled and pinned, spring loaded extractor claw. I would think the version with the spring loaded extractor claw would be more reliable than the stamped metal clip.

When i would order extractors, would buy 4 or 5 as I knew the guy would be back and I always had some on hand. Like I said up above lots of extractor problems.
